Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Finally, after many years of trying to get in Maoji, I was able to try their delicious Chinese cuisine yesterday for dinner. The restaurant interior design is something I really loved, haven’t been to China yet, but once you enter Maoji it feels like you’re already there. As a lover of Asian food and in particular spicy dishes, I ordered as much spicy food as I could fit in my belly and it was an absolute treat. I had a bowl of noodles, baoji and some beef skewers. Everything was in abundance and so yummy. Service was quick and price reasonable. Definitely a place I would recommend if you love Chinese cuisine."
"Small hole in the wall kinda eatery but opens up as you enter the restaurant. Looks rustic and cosy. Like any Chinese restaurant, this place has a vast menu. We ate the vegetarian options recommended by the owner and we had nothing to complain about. Absolutely authentic and delicious Chinese grub."
"I've been wanting to try this place for some time now, and i finally went. They serve great authentic Chinese food. The interior had some Chinese vibes. It was cosy and comfortable. The food arrived pretty fast, given that the place was packed with people. Prices are reasonable."
"A good mix of tradition and modernity. It's one of my favourite Chinese restaurants since I love spicy food and enjoy a great atmosphere. The place feels youthful, often a bit crowded and the service is a bit rough, but the dishes are so good I always come back."
"Look for Chinese food in Milano? Maoji is top of my list. For my two weeks stay in Milan. I went to Maoji 4 times for dinner! Good vibe ! Recommend!"
"We visited this Chinese restaurant shortly before closing time and were pleasantly surprised to find it packed with Italian locals — a great sign that the food was going to be delicious! The decor instantly transported us to the streets of China — such a cool and authentic vibe! Everything we ordered was absolutely yummy! The waitress, who spoke a little English, was kind and helpful in guiding us through the menu. Highly recommend: • The shrimp rice with sauce • The spicy ramen with beef and tofu I would definitely visit again!"
"Absolutely a "must visit" place. Their menu is translated in English, Italian and Chinese. The dishes we ordered were true to their description (especially the spice indications). The portions were big and full of flavour. Interior design is a whole other topic, the atmosphere is lovely and despite the size of the dining room it was pleasant just to be there. Staff were working efficiently."
"We loved it. I've been wanting authentic Chinese food for months. We live near venice/Padua. The Asian food there of any kind it so altered. Not close to authentic. The food here was perfect. So proud of my husband for trying it. he loved it too. The restaurant has wonderful street style decorations . The waiters are so wonderful . Highly recommend this restaurant. Shocked by the bad reviews."
